Catching Up...

i haven't seen a movie in quite awhile. and since i live in a small town with one old movie theatre which only plays one movie a week and they're usually not that good, i don't get to see many in the theatre. also, my reality tv addiction has hindered my video watching at home. so martin and i had a movie marathon this weekend. we rented: starsky & hutch, willard, adaptaion and american splendor. they were all good in their own way but i loved american splendor and crispin glover has always brought a smile to my face so i loved seeing him in willard. when i took the movies back today i grabbed ~the station agent~ i hear it's really good. i feel a little more caught up now.

Twins Swim!

this was a really frustrating episode to watch. i have never wanted to reach into a televison set and hurt somebody as badly as i wanted to last night. colin, oh colin. how i hate thee. you future wifebeater. you control freak of control freaks. you obviously hate women and you must have a really, really small dick. when they made it to the pitstop first and phil said "you're team number one" colin's response was "you got that right". obnoxious much? but his worst quote of the night has got to be "i'm serious, we have to beat the midget". way to be a man.

mirna is still grating on my nerves but i still like her and charla. they screw up all of the time and still manage to keep it together. they do have to stop relying on the other teams though.

the pizza brothers are so gross to watch. i loved it when they were about to give up during the chocolate challenge. please, do us a favour and give up. then we won't have to watch them scream obscenities out of their car anymore.

but by far, my favourite moment of the night was when the two uptight twins decided to swim across to the island instead of wade across like everyone else. phil's expression was priceless. they were just happy that they could finally show off their flat little tummies and sports bras.

the army dad and his cold daughter got the boot. he made this really touching speech about his daughter and she just kind of stood there and didn't say anything nice about him.

i'm still rooting for the bowling moms, chip & kim and bob & joyce.

Bye Bye Alison!

well, now i can go back to enjoying my favourite show. alison and donnie are bye bye. note to alison: never start a detour and then give up in the middle of it to try the other one. and never take direction from someone who doesn't know that a ferry is a boat.

mirna and charla were halarious as usual and mirna hugging phil everytime she sees him is just priceless. i still really like the bowling moms and i think if they did tell the army dad and daughter that they should exchange their money, it would of been shown. i think it was a misunderstanding, it doesn't seem like their style. and if i were the daughter i would of said after the tenth time my dad brought it up. "ok dad! enough, get over it".

they hardly showed the pizza brothers from texas, except when they called the people of Uruguary "useless foreigners". leave it to people from texas to call people in their own country foreigners. . oh yea, the gropping was unexpected and quite funny to see how the guys dealt with it. The girl christian model was getting groped while her boyfriend just grabbed the ball from her and didn't help her at all. now, what do you think Jesus would say about that?

Home Sickness

i have had an unexpected and horrible bout of homesickness today. It came from absolute nowhere. i moved to b.c. from toronto 13 years ago this september. i remember the first few years i would get homesick for my family but not really for toronto. But today, it was all toronto.


i miss the sound of the streetcars, the subway, the humidity, high park, bloor west village, queen street, the green mango, the c.n.e., my cottage, going out to dinner with my sisters, and just everything, toronto.

i'm feeling better.

david bowie under went emergency heart surgery! i am NOT ready for anything bad to happen to him. here's wishing him a speedy recovery.

Not A Trip To Hawaii!

well it happened. on the first episode of the amazing race alison and donnie won a trip to hawaii. alison, the girl that makes my skin crawl. a girl who calls little people "midgets" and loves to repeatedly cheat on her boyfriend on national tv. and donnie, the boy who doesn't mind being humiliated on national tv and who didn't know that a ferry is a boat. a match made in heaven! i had accepted that fact that alison from big brother was going to be on my favourite reality show all i wanted was for her never to be first and never to win a trip. Is that too much to ask???


i really like charla but her cousin is really condescending. i like the father who hurt his leg but his daughter is a real biatch. i had liked the twins from eugene in the beginning but they got on my nerves royally. the christian models are really, really creepy and the texan pizzeria owners are trying really hard to be "the bad guys". I am really pulling for the husband and wife team who own a computer company together. they treat each other well and that's nice to see.
