Poppymoonean, so true! Have you ever checked out the Darwin Awards (I think they're at .com - I read the book)? You'll see this gender thing happening there, too.
One of my brothers-in-law, Daryl (no kidding), has only one or two digits per hand left (and one ear; but I guess that's another story). Now he tours high schools & lectures on not driving under the influence. So, if he became a celebrity, would he be, like, their KING?

I lost my marriage finger as a young girl and have known a number of girls who have done likewise so its not just men!At school I was one of three girls with 9 fingers!
