Well, it's that time of year again. Back to school.

I always dread the first week of school. I seem to get a very nervous stomach around the first week of September, every year. Is that normal?

I love having the boys home (I'm a homeschooler at heart) and I always find it hard to get back into the schedule of constant driving, volunteering, making lunches, playing nice with the other Mom's etc etc.

We are very lucky to have them at a great school which we truly adore. I guess I still suffer from a few lingering issues from my own school days.

Jody, I'm glad you posted this. I feel the same way too. There's an excitement in the air when September starts but I also always get a pang in my stomach when I remember the first day of school. Hope your guys are enjoying themselves!

boo...no school!

no matter how much (or how little) fun i have over the summer, it never ceases to surprise me how quickly the time passes.

i hope the boys are having fun though and have nice teachers.

Seems to me those mums we have to make nice with have major year-round issues they'd do well to attend to instead of giving us the hairy eyeball, applying the playdate pressure, and mustering the brain power to think up brilliant conversation openers like "oh, do you have children at this school?" after seeing you on the steps at 3pm five days a week 3 months in a row.

Oh my! Didn't know I felt that cranky about it!

I hear ya!

I'm happy this second week wasn't as brutal as the first.
