What Do You Do After Adopting A Baby From China?

Well, if you're Meg Ryan... pass her to the Nanny.
Bonding schmonding.

Who says that is a nanny? It's probably a relative or friend.

Since MR is about to pay for valetparking, no wonder she handed the baby over to her friend for 10 seconds.

well if she's not a nanny, why would she be carrying all the diaper bags?

Gee, and there's Meg with those sweatsocks and sensible shoes on just right for baby-carrying! Well, at least somebody's holding the baby - you know about my neighbour who stuck her baby in a snowsuit the day after she arrived from Haiti and dumped in the snow to struggle on her own - and don't anyone dare pick the child up 'cause "she's gotta get used to it".
PS: and what an imagination your anonymous commenter has!

Chelly you are so sweet.

Actually I was feeling it might have been a little harsh of me to have posted this after reading the first comment (I was raised catholic and am easily prone to guilt)

Then I thought no. It IS more likely than not that Meg Ryan (or MR) and people like her have their nannies picked out even before the baby names. I can see someone saying "maybe it is a relative or friend" but definitely not "probably".

Unfortunately it's more news worthy when a celebrity doesn't have a nanny then when they do ie; Jodie Foster. And then they seem to get congratualted for it, for raising their own child! It's incredible to me. It just seems to be the norm and I find it sad and quite shameful.

I remember going to a certain park in Vancouver where it would just be me and my son and about 12 nannies every day. I kid you not. I just can't imagine paying someone to wake up in the middle of the night to feed my baby so I can get a good night sleep, or kiss the booboo's and change the nappies.

I have 2 sister-in-laws who have nannies and I tell ya, you can see the difference in the kids. Also the Mom's seem not to be able to handle even the slightest amount of normal ruckus. And BEWARE if you even look like you are making a judgment or else it's you being petty, jealous and immature.

Sorry but I feel it's a priviledge to have a child not a human's right. And what is the matter with having to sacrifice some things that you want to do? It's not like they live with you forever. You will get a break. I mean Jesus, they go to school at 5!

If you don't have the time and energy to raise your children then get a fucking pet. (And not a dog that you leave tied up and barking and miserable) maybe a cat.

Ok I'm done ranting now. I have a head cold and I am beyond grumpy, so there!

if you go to bloor west at around noon, you can watch what i like to call 'the nanny parade!'

rant away. i think it's strange that people are more willing to defend celebrities than the rights of a child (although by the look of all the supportive comments, this is not the norm)
