The Thing has gotta be the GORIEST movie I ever watched, and then I watched parts of it again last week, too! The first time, I stuck with it because the story (Who Goes There) was fantastic but somehow my mental pictures just never got as gross as John Carpenter's.
But it's kind of irresistable, isn't it?
PS the dog is shedding because she's inside, with you, where it's warm, 'cause she's Smart!
The Thing is pretty damn gory but the mood and music are, as you said "irresistable".
Thanks for the Lily tip, she is smart but the fur is driving me nuts!
